A Wee Bit Of History About Us

The Acorn Project is a justice diversion project that was established in 1999 in order to provide programmes for “at risk” young people.

The Acorn Project is a Youth Work Ireland Midlands project and works directly with targeted groups and individuals in the community of Edenderry and surrounding areas.

Throughout the years the project has been dedicated to providing a quality service and in making sure that the community of Edenderry has access to a range of services. With this aim in mind, the provision on an Astro turf in 2009 and Edenderry Youth Café in 2012, was made a reality.

The project aims to respond to the needs of the community in terms of services required, training and education, youth programmes and education.

This website serves to provide you with up to date events and programmes that are happening within The Acorn Project, Edenderry Youth Café, AMETS and Teach Na Nog.

AMETS  -
The Acorn Midland Education & Training Service was established in 2015. Adult Education and continued learning is provided by AMETS through its QQI Certified courses and its hobby courses, covering a myriad of topics.
